As an instructor, I will present material to students that grant them an understanding of not only the diversity of the American experience but also the diversity of how the American experience was/is interpreted and viewed. Social movements are not only historical events but also result in changing/shifting historical lenses. Beyond the classroom, I will continue my interest in student support through workgroups and initiatives that work to create not only create more diversity in the academy but to support and aid students from diverse minority backgrounds.
