Kimberly taught a class entitled, Blacks in the Americas: The History of Africans in the Americas Through Film at Rice University. The class traced the history of the African diaspora in the Americas and emphasized the tension between historical and cultural storytelling through textual analysis of films that represented the historical time period we discussed each week. Kimberly won a Graduate Student Teaching Award for her class.
Kimberly has extensive classroom and learning experience through her role as a mentor to both graduate and undergraduate students and as a teaching assistant in the Department of history for professors at Rice University.
